With all business models, there come a time what is known as a saturation point. The saturation point is when the business stops growing. Most businesses learn how to adapt to the environment and continue for decades.
In the online space, saturation can come quickly due to the staggering expansion of the internet. I am not suggestion that the internet has reached saturation. However, some media models are being challenged due to the capriciousness of the consumer.
Face book media platform is a remarkable media platform. Face book growth is staggering and will continue to amaze the industry for decades. On the horizon are some heavy-duty graphic base media platform that many are turning to as an alternative to Face Book and even Google.
We are a society that wants change and desires a life of ease. Companies such as Timblr, Pinterest, and Instagram are growing because of their visual business model.
How often do you find it hard to come up with relevant content each and everyday? Companies, such as the ones I mentioned, have designed visual platforms to allow the consumer to share photos or locations revolving around their lives.
The concept is no different from most other social platforms, which is to share a life style versus pushing a product. The ease of use is their claim to fame with surprising results. The concept primarily emphasizes more visual stimulation through photo etc than content base.
Pinterest has just passed 10 million visitors. Instagram has over 15 million visitors. Pinterst has risen to #5 just behind Yahoo pertaining to referral traffic. Finally, Timblr has 15 billion page views a month. (DigitalMarketer)
In the end I know Facebook is the dominate player in the social media industry and will continue to be because of the tremendous talent Face book has attracted. However, Face book has to be aware of some visual base platforms that are taking visitors away from Face book.
